April 17, 2015 -  This month I wish a Happy Easter to my Christian friends and a joyous Passover to my Jewish friends.  May you find joy, health, love, and peace in these treasured days.  The Quran says in Surah Baqra:  "Indeed, those who believed and those who were Jews or Christians or Sabians - those  who believed in God and the Last Day and did good deeds - they will have their reward with their Lord, and no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve. "  I have enjoyed your company in this life, and may we celebrate the next life as friends as well.

March 17, 2015 -  We started the month with the International Day of Women.  Who can really celebrated women more than the Holy Quran.  In Surah Mumtahana, and verse 12, the Quran gave women the right to vote.  This was in the early 7th century.  I was lucky to have a religion that always empowered me and gave me amazing rights.

May 17, 2015 -  Congratulations to all the students graduating with degrees this month.  Some are even getting a Baccalaureate.  The origin of this word comes from the Muslim house of wisdom where Baccalaureate comes from “Bihaqq al-riwayatt”.   The term is composed of three Arabic words: ‘Bi’ is with,  ‘haqq’ the right or honor, and “Al-riwayatt” to transfer knowledge and learning to somebody else.

February 17, 2015 -  Prophet Muhammad (may peace be upon him said):  "Show gentleness, for if gentleness is found in anything, it beautifies it and when it is taken out from anything it damages it."

Making this world better for ourselves and future generations will require being gentle with each other - Sam
